Digital Archive
Jyoti Chitraban Digital Archive is one of the largest government-run archives in northeast India.It is Assam’s living digital archive that not only collects, but stores for future generations all kinds of content including music, films, documentaries, photographs, and texts. The Digital Archivepremise in the campus of Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio has in display old camera, mixing console,microphones, and other technical equipments which are not used any more.
Launched in December 2016 as the Music Archive by honourable Cultural Minister of Assam,Shri Naba Kumar Doley, the archive was converted and renamed as the Jyoti Chitraban DigitalArchive in May 2017, and started functioning in association with Celebstan, a startup founded under IIM Ahmedabad by two Assamese youth.
Jyoti Chitraban Digital Archive strives to digitise every audio-video material from Assam and northeast India, and store and preserve all such materials of archival value for posterity.
